Grooming Tips

  1. Work on brushing them, and baths while they are young. This will help prepare them for the groomer. Do not take them to a groomer until they are fully vaccinated.
  2. Wait until at least 6 Months of age to take them to the groomer. They will then have some of their adult coat by then.
  3. The wavy, curly adult coat will start replacing the soft, fluffy puppy coat around 5-7 months of age.
  4. Clip their nails often and clean their ears.
  5. Goldendoodles can be new to your groomer. I recommend knowing what you like and want so that you help explain it to them. I personally like the Teddy Bear Haircut.

*Small notch shaved between the eyes.
*Muzzle hair left long by using rounded scissors.
*Body Length left 1.5-2 inches long.
*Feet Trimmed for a rounded Paw.
*Blending shears to help blend hair evenly around the face and ears. *Long tail feathering and tapered towards the tip.

Are Goldendoodles high maintenance?
Moderately. The biggest ongoing commitment is grooming — Goldendoodles need professional grooming every 6‒8 weeks to prevent matting, which adds up to roughly 600–1,200 per year depending on your area and the dog’s coat. They also need daily exercise and mental stimulation.
How often should you bathe a puppy?
Once every 4‒6 weeks is generally sufficient for most puppies. Bathing too frequently strips the natural oils from their coat and skin, which can cause dryness and irritation.
Are Goldendoodles good with kids?
Yes — well-bred, well-socialized Goldendoodles are exceptional with children. They’re gentle, patient, and playful. The key words are “well-bred” and “well-socialized.”
